Love at First Sight

Daniel and Anna weren’t looking for love when they got to know each other online. They spent hours on video calls talking about everything you can imagine. What stood out for Daniel was that Anna was looking for a relationship modeled on God’s design and that Anna had been naturally supporting Daniel’s calling for years. Anna appreciated how Daniel was encouraging her walk with God and helping her with parenting advice for her son.

God put it on their heart that they had to be honest with each other right from the beginning. They both knew that the person God had for them needed to be strong enough to love them for who they were, flaws and all.

After a month Daniel decided he had to meet Anna in person. He drove non-stop, 18 hours across the country, to meet her. It was about midnight when he arrived and they were so excited to meet that Anna invited him over. Sitting on the back porch swing, next to a fire, they talked all night long and late into the morning. As the sun came up, Daniel knew beyond any reasonable doubt that Anna was his soul mate.

What Anna didn’t know is that Daniel was so sure that she was beyond the girl of his dreams that he had already bought a ring before leaving. When buying the ring Daniel told the salesman that, while he had only known Anna for a few weeks, he was positive she would say “Yes!” because he could tell that she felt the same way about him.

It was just before lunch, less than 12 hours after meeting in person, and Daniel presented the ring to Anna and asked her to marry him. Anna had no doubts and confidently said “Yes!”.

A year later, we both bought the same card for our anniversary, it read “When my heart found you… it knew”.
